This family sure knows how to love each other well and play together often—they were so much fun to photograph! Oregon is the place they call home, but this family of four travels the world regularly with their kiddos. Their two sweet daughters have been to 20 countries around the world! Since Hawaii is such a great place to relax and getaway (while still in the country), they brought grandparents from both sides along and wanted to document this special time.
As I was getting to know them, it was so evident that although the relationships between the family members look a little bit different, they are all incredibly strong. The girls’ parents have been together since they were seventeen, and their love is still growing stronger with each passing year. I loved capturing how they find sweet moments with each other while playing with their girls. They have such a special dynamic.
The girls also have the unique opportunity to be able to see their grandparents multiple times per week, so they have built special relationships with them, too. I enjoyed capturing the girls dancing and twirling beside their grandmothers and mom—three generations of beautiful ladies. Mom and Dad wanted to capture the closeness of the entire group as memoirs for their daughters to look back on when they are older. The girls already have an idea of how very loved they are, but it will mean even more to have these candid photos of them spending time together as they get older.
And there’s certainly no better place to capture some laid-back fun in the sun than on breathtaking Lanikai Beach! This family of four had a great time watching the sunrise together, playing the early morning sun and then splashing in the waves together. What a great note to end on. Aloha to this lovely family!
